The Great Betrayal

After Calidus' expulsion from Moonglow at the hands of The Deafening Knock's rebellion, his path crossed with Oshirra, and the two found they had similar goals; Find a way to unite Mortalkind and allow them to prosper, without imposing absolutism that would cause revolt.

The two began to work together toward this goal, however it slowly became apparent that they held different ideas in how to accomplish their task.

Oshirra repeatedly suggested they beseech other Celestials for aid. Calidus, aware of the dangers of his kind, refused to entertain the idea.

Eventually, Oshirra went behind Calidus' back and made contact with The Divine, inviting it down to Andeloria to join their plans. Upon arrival however, The Divine realized it did not need the pair for its plans, and banished them to the Far Realms.

Oshirra, seething in betrayal and quickly succumbing to the maddening influence of the Far Realms, vowed to wipe out all live in the universe, and began creating an army of demons to carry out her crusade.

Calidus tried to fight the madness, but ultimately this battle was futile, and he found himself weakened and maddened, singularly focused on trying to stop Oshirra's plans.
